🔧 Green Star Smog Check

got my smog check done. this is my usual spot for 8 years or so. on their website, they usually have a special/coupon available. i made sure to print and bring physical voucher for $ 29.97 offer for certain criteria of vehicles. which im confident i met. however, when i arrived the manager said cost estimate for SMOG was $50. READ THE FINE PRINT folks. apparently the voucher is for 29.97 is correct but since my DMV registration requires STAR SMOG service attention, then it would make more sense to pay $50 for SMOG test that allows for retest IF the vehicle fails. the special i saw online was nothing like he showed me on his clipboard. gentleman had a clipboard and it was a page print out showing a rebate that he would offer me but it would only shave off the amount off the $60 but if my vehicle failed I will not be able to retest. he did the math in front of me $60 U&C - $ 10.99 rebate would cost $48. which is a $2 difference. So i did not fight him for $2. but how did 29.97 turn to 48 final and better to go with $50. Needless to say... this is my last time getting tested at this location. thank you for your service. 👍🏼🙋🏽‍♀️🙏🏼

New smog check shop owner is on 1st come 1st serve basis. Remember to bring your CA DMV renewal paperwork for faster service. I purchased used vehicle without and needed information entered. Quick efficient Mr Tran got me in & out fast! There's an additional $8.25 fee payable by debit or credit card only!

CUSTOMER BEWARE: THIS TEST STATION MISLEADS CUSTOMERS WITH THE ADVERTISED LOW PRICE ONLINE. Don't get your car tested here, there are many other honest smog test places out there. I've been going to this place for the last 2 yrs with all my 3 cars and I've even recommended this place to several of my friends and relatives because of the decent price and good customer service who has since been going to this place, too. But this morning, I was really disappointed because I was charged with almost double as I had been charged before with the same car that I brought in last time. I had a crossover car and I was charged $60 including the $8.95 certificate fee even after I told and showed the technician the discounted price of $29.95 + cert fee online (which says that you don't need to print the coupon). First of all, the technician didn't discuss with me the price before doing my smog test because he was so busy since he was the only one working at this time. He later told me that the price had changed because it is now under new management and the previous owner used to do weird pricing. Even after showing him the online coupon he still insisted for me that $60 is the lowest price he can give me. This is misleading. Since my car already passed the test, I just decided to pay $60 and not to argue with the technician because there are a few more person waiting for this him. For me, this is a small profit for this shop to ruin their good customer service. After hearing my discussion with this technician, I noticed that a few of the customers waiting left without having their car tested. I will also make sure to spread this bad experience to all my friends and relatives so they don't have to go to this place anymore.

They're one of the few Star certified smog check places open on Sundays which makes them convenient if your DMV notice says you have to go to a Star shop. Look online for the "coupon deal" that all these places seem to offer then call and confirm the price and check whether or not they are busy -- it's a tiny place with only one bay for doing the checks and limited parking in the lot. If you don't have a price agreed beforehand I think the walk-in rate is quite high, but you can show the website price from your phone, too. They have a tiny, grubby waiting area with a few chairs, a tv and some random magazines. I think they say they have wifi but I didn't try to connect to it. The woman in the office was friendly enough and the guy doing the smog check didn't say much but he wasn't rude to us. We didn't have an appointment but only had to wait for one car to be done before we took our turn, which was reasonably quick and as painless as required emissions checks ever are.

Teren was great! He brought our car in right away, I didn't even have to get off my car! He was really fast and said I only had to wait 10 minutes! I've brought my car here three times and it's always been amazing! If you want no hassle, no problem, in and out quick, I highly suggest this place. BONUS: super reasonable prices!
