🔧 Babe’s Mufflers

I normally don't leave reviews, but I feel like people should be warned. I had exhaust tips installed here and they stuck them way too far out past the bumper. I live all the way in Gilroy, so I trusted that the job was done right. Turns out, the tips were sticking out so far that they scraped constantly--driveways, dips, you name it. Totally avoidable if they'd done the install properly. When I finally brought the car back and asked them to fix it and bring the tips in, they refused correcting the work and wanted to charge me. Their excuse? "We can't adjust it now because the tips are scraped." Of course they're scraped--their poor install is the whole reason that happened in the first place. Super frustrating experience. I wasted time, money, and now I'm stuck dealing with the damage. Would not recommend.

Brought my car in on a Saturday morning around 1030 for some welding on a custom exhaust setup. My car was up on a lift 5 min later, and 30 min later I was back on the road. The price was very fair. Friendly office and shop staff. I would highly recommend Babe’s.

My catalytic converter was stolen and these folks installed a new one for me. However, they installed it backwards. The gentleman tried to explain to me, it doesn’t matter which direction it goes in, and that he knows better than the manufacturer, even though it clearly states airflow this direction only. Why would a manufacturer clearly stamp this direction only on it if it didn’t matter? He said that he’s been doing this his whole life and to trust him. If he’s been doing this his whole life it makes me wonder how many other catalytic converters he’s installed incorrectly. I was going to give them one star, however the welder did a good job on the welds and they promptly switched it back for me after me pointing out that it was installed backwards. Caveat emptor… buyer beware!

I had to get my car smog fed, but I had a check engine light; ODB2 diagnostics tool tells me it’s due to one inefficient catalytic converter. I called Babes & Lightning mufflers and had an appointment the next morning. They called back in afternoon with quote on installing a new CA-approved cat converter. Price was reasonable, service and weld job were top notch. They also checked to make sure I didn’t have any leaks elsewhere in the exhaust system. Overall, very satisfied and wouldn’t hesitate to have them work on my car again.

The guys are true professionals. I had my middle muffler and rear muffler replaced by them, also some minor fabrication work. I'll be revisiting in the future for my complete 3 inch cat-back muffler set up. Highly recommended for all exhaust work.
